Learning outcomes GRAPHIC DESIGN 1

Each course and modules have their own learning outcomes - something like a 'goal' for what to achieve. For Graphic Design 1, the learning outcomes are as follows:

1. Be able to develop and process creative ideas from initial sketches through to
finished printed resolutions.
this is the best way to show the own creativity and can learn and try the new skill.

2. Demonstrate imaginative and creative responses to given projects.
learn and know everything about graphic design, and now still practice to perfect and great.

3. Be able to undertake visual research to support their ideas.
in graphic design research is important because all assignment must research first to support their ideas and know how to start.

4. Develop the use of these techniques within their own areas of study and interests.

PROPOSAL GROUP INSTALLATION ART (INDIVIDUAL) (TASK 7)

Abstract
The introduction briefly describes the issue, concept and subject matter of the project. The problem statement further outlines the issue that is the core of the project, and details why the issue is chosen whereas the objectives are a list of what is intended to achieve in this project. The hypothesis describes the initial expectations of the outcome of this project before the project is finished. Installation art for the group is about littering issue. The purpose of making this project is to make the audience realize and appreciate about littering issue and also the way to avoid littering issue problem in their daily lives. Our installation art develops from our idea with research about littering issue and a way to solve the problem about the littering issue to give avoid for humanity.
A brief outline of the research and development of ideas for the project is detailed in the methodology, and the literature review talks about what research material has been used in this project. The process details a step-by-step walkthrough on how the project is carried out, and the conclusion reflects on whether or not the outcome reflects the hypothesis, and what problems have risen during the working on the project.
1.0       Introduction
Nicolas. 2005, said. Installation art also is known as temporary or permanent, The Installation art constructed in spaces like museum, gallery, and public spaces. Susan buckhingman. 2008, said. Environmental issue in recent time is now the serious issue and the consequences of environmental issue like haze pollution, littering, water pollution and air pollution cause sickness, and the situation is not safe for occupied. Environmental issue must be taken seriously because impact for next generation and thinning ozone. The problem is about littering the negative attitude of people on littering and its consequences.
.           Bereau Basis, 2011, said. 3D wall art to provide an extra dimension to interior walls and compliment just about any room in the house. 3D wall art will bring your walls to life, its mean give peaceful to who person that’s inside the room that have wall art and can give release tension for the people when they look beautiful 3D wall art. Modern day society is defined by style and innovative thinking. Wall art strives to give new life to your home or business. From that I use the rubbish like glass bottle, plastic bottle and all about the rubbish for represent the artwork assignment for installation art. The metaphor is durable, strong and for present about the garbage effect.

1.1       Problem Statement
People attitude that like littering assumes this things just small matter, in fact this is serious matter. Littering getting worse without realizing from our attitude maybe because lazy to littering the proper place, mostly this thing happen because of the people are irresponsible. This problem must be varied, (Jean scheid. 2006). This is a mind-set that needs to be changed and this is what this project aims to do via installation art.

1.2       Objective
In the objective, have 3 types of objective
First, research and understand the meaning of installation art, attitude of people and about littering. Reading based on the books and website.
Second, analyse the littering, attitude of people, combine and develop ideas and concepts trough the understanding of the research material.
Lastly, apply the littering and attitude of people in my Installation art. 3D wall art use to make people understand about the negative attitude of people on littering and its consequences.

1.3       Hypotheses
Hypotheses in this research to conveying the message for humanity and hope they appreciate this beautiful created in order to reduce the contamination occurred on this earth. For installation art gift human awareness that we can be seen. We create installation art in 3D wall art to making a person knows about the effect of pollution like we issue littering.
1.4       Methodology
Process to do project
1.4.1    Research and Take photo
Take the photo garbage and research about negative attitude of people on littering and its consequences. Studies are done about littering and about which causes it to happen is all around us. Through newspapers, magazines, books or websites for understanding why the people do littering. It’s like in introduction, the human will do littering and leave the garbage when they see surrounding area has garbage and if the people sit in a clean area they will not littering in the area, that is an attitude of people. In human mind littering behaviour not wrong and others people will be a clean the trash.

1.4.2    Sketches
The pictures below are the initial sketches for the installation layout.

Figure 2: Initial layout sketches
Figure 3: Initial layout sketches
Figure 4: Initial layout sketches
Figure 5: Initial layout sketches
Figures 5 to 8 are the initial sketches of the layout for the installation. At first it concentrates more on the solutions to recycling, rather than actually focusing on the core problem itself. Then it gradually moves into the direction of showing how negative attitudes affect littering. These layouts do not work as they are too simple and literal to understand, and therefore more ideas are then developed.
Figure 6: Layout concept sketch
Figure 9 seems to lean a bit closer to what the entire project intends to convey, but even then this is much too literal in sending the core message to people. In other words, the problem with the sketch in figures 5 to 9 are that people may find it easy to understand what the installation intends to show, that they may not be prompted to think things through at all.
Figure 7: Initial layout sketch
Figure 10 leans just a little closer to the final layout, in which it is suggested that the outline of a brain, drawn to connect with the hand, is drawn. This seems to work well at first, and is the sketch in which the project is based on at first before the shape of the brain outline resembled more of a speech bubble. This then prompted one final sketch:
Figure 8: Final layout sketch
Figure 11 depicts a sketch of a speech bubble connected to a hand drawn on the floor, where the inside of the speech bubble is to be filled with a few words. At first the idea is to place a large question mark in the speech bubble, but the idea is rejected as it may evoke a sense of uncertainty. The sketch in Figure 11 is the sketch that the project is based on.

1.6       Experiment
One of the experiments done for this project is to identify the types of litter that will be used to create the installation. It has been suggested that perishable rubbish such as banana peels are used in this project, but using rubbish that degrades easily may pose problems to the installation in the long run.

     1.      Bottle, attempting to stick bottle onto wall with double-sided tape.

     2.      The bottle falls onto the floor after a few seconds.

One of the experiments done in this installation is  to attempt to stick bottles and glass shards onto  the wall with double-sided tape.

The bottle falls down after a few seconds of being  mounted on the wall with double-sided tape. A  similar experiment is done using glass shards from  broken bottles which also lead to the same    outcome

        3.      Filling bottles with water

4  .      Bottles and glass shards placed on the floor

In the end, it is decided that the bottles and the  shards will be used to form the shape of the hand  on the floor. To ensure the bottles will stay in  place, they are filled with water as in figure 3, and  placed and arranged around the outline of the  hand as in Figure 4, together with the glass shards.

The outline of the shape of the speech bubble is traced on the wall.

Using normal double-sided tape and double-sided foam tape, bits of plastic, newspaper and other rubbish are placed around the outline of the speech bubble.

Bottles and glass shards, together with some leftover newspapers are lined on the floor inside the outline of the hand.

Using double-sided tape, the outline of the words inside the speech bubble is placed and newspaper bits are used to outline the words.

1.8       Conclusion
The hypothesis of the project is achieved in the end, as the final outcome turned out as a wall art and floor art. The problems that arose while working on the project is poor time management, In this project, researches play many roles in the attempt of creating our installation, many research had been done by us and this task done by us even it not successful like our plan.
